Abstract
A recent study by Deflubé et al. (Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U. S. A. 2019;116:8535-8543) reported that Ebola virus genomes have variable 3' terminal nucleotides. This finding is a departure from other nonsegmented, negative-strand RNA viruses (NNSVs) that have been studied to date and has broad implications for filoviral replication and innate immune evasion.Entities:
