Treatment groups Lap group, animals received DMSO as vehicles for 2 weeks then laparotomy was done; in CLP group, animals received vehicles only; In DDW15 + ML and DDW30 + ML groups, essential oil (100 mg/kg) and DDWs at two doses of 15 and 30 ppm were orally used together before CLP operation, a group of CLP rats treated with indomethacin (2 mg/kg b.w) as positive control.
