Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Interaction between obesity and genetic factors involved in the regulatory pathways of glucose homeostasis may play a significant role in diabetes development in the obese. Adjusted for TCF7L2 rs7903146 genotypes (recessive and dominant models), age at onset of obesity above 20 years, male sex, dyslipidemia, and serum total adiponectin level < 50th percentile (the cut-off value of adiponectin concentration < 50th percentile was 4.87 µg/ml).
