Abstract
A commercially-available direct immunofluorescence (IF) reagent (Imagen; Boots-Celltech, Slough, Berkshire, United Kingdom) was similar in sensitivity and specificity to the conventional indirect IF test for the detection of respiratory syncytial virus in respiratory secretions. Both IF tests were more sensitive than culture, particularly for specimens transported from outside the institution.Entities:
