Abstract
BACKGROUND: Mortality among human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) infected children initiated on antiretroviral therapy (ART) though on a decline still remains high in resource-limited countries (RLC). Identifying baseline factors that predict mortality could allow their possible modification in order to improve pediatric HIV care and reduce mortality.Entities:

Figure 1:Survival following diagnosis and initiation of ART. Kaplan Meier survival curves: plot A shows the survival probability for the cohort of children while plots B, C and D show unadjusted associations between Sex, Age group and PTB with mortality risk after initiation of ART.
Predictors of mortality in HIV-1 infected children initiated on ART between 2005-2013 at the Jos University Teaching Hospital.
