Abstract
Orthopaedics contributes a significant benefit to the Missouri economy. Economic modeling and data quantified the direct and indirect impact within Missouri. Multipliers were applied to direct expenditures to calculate the indirect impact attributable to initial spending. Nearly $1.8 billion can be attributed to the output of orthopaedic related services. The related physical therapy industry increases this figure to nearly $2.3 billion. It is clear that orthopaedics benefits Missouri with both medical services and economic growth.Mesh:
