Overlapping genes are sorted according to direction of regulation. PN vs. CN, BN vs. CN and MN vs. CN are, respectively, pollen, Bee-Pro and MegaBee diet treatments with Nosema. P vs. C, B vs. C, and M vs. C are, respectively, the same diet treatments in healthy bees. Chi-square tests with Yates correction were performed to determine if pattern of direction bias is statistically consistent between the considered two conditions. Immune and defense genes differentially expressed in infected bees fed carbohydrates instead of pollen (PN vs. CN) was analyzed in GeneMania. Types of interactions in the resulting network are described with their percentage. Enriched defense processes were uncovered, of which a select number are described. Gene accounts and FDR were calculated based on the Drosophila genome
