Abstract
AIM: This study aimed to compare the quality of life (QoL) of cancer patients, with an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance of 3-4, in contact with or without contact, with a specialized palliative care unit (PCU) at a low-resource governmental cancer hospital, as well as studying the impact of this contact on the QoL in their caregivers.Entities:

Figure 5The median values of the Palliative Care Outcome Scale items for Group A (no contact with the palliative care unit) versus Group B (contact with the dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine). Palliative Care Outcome Scale explores aspects of 1: The level of pain, 2: Other discomforting symptoms, 3: Anxiousness, 4: The family level of anxiousness, 5: Given information, 6: Sharing feelings with family or friends, 7: If life is worthwhile, 8: Self-esteem, 9: Time spent on health care without value, 10: Attentions on practical matters, respectively. See Appendix 1 for the items in palliative care outcome scale
