Abstract
OBJECTIVES: After subtotal colectomy, 40% of patients report chronic gastrointestinal symptoms and poor quality of life. Its etiology is unknown. We determined whether small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) or small intestinal fungal overgrowth (SIFO) cause gastrointestinal symptoms after colectomy.Entities:
