Abstract
Ischaemic colitis is the most common form of gastrointestinal ischaemia, but may be confused with acute mesenteric ischaemia, inflammatory bowel disease or infectious colitis. This review article outlines the current classification, epidemiology and risk factors, as well as approaches about diagnosis and management to guide clinical practice.
