Abstract
Intussusception is characterized by one segment of the gastrointestinal tract telescoping into the lumen of the adjacent segment; it is rarely reported in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and the condition can be threatening. Only four cases of intussusception with SLE have been reported in literature. Here, we describe a new case of a patient with ileocecal intussusception merged with SLE, who was diagnosed using abdominal computed tomography and successfully treated with high-dose intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) and pulse methylprednisolone.Entities:
