Abstract
OBJECTIVE: We aimed to identify depressive symptom profiles that indicated the presence of depressive disorder and present optimal cut-off sub-scores for depressive symptom profiles for detecting depressive disorder in elderly subjects with chronic physical diseases including diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease/asthma, and coronary artery disease, using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9).Entities:

Baseline characteristics of the subjects with and without depressive disorder
*adjusted for the effects of gender, marital status, living status, and score on the MMSE. CCI: Charlson comorbidity index, COPD: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, MMSE: mini-mental status examination
Score on the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 of the subjects with and with depressive disorder
*adjusted for the effects of gender, marital status, living status, and score on the MMSE. MMSE: mini-mental status examination
Binary logistic regression model to identify the depressive symptom profiles indicating depressive disorder†
*adjusted for the effects of gender, marital status, living status, and score on the MMSE, †depressive mood, reduced/increased appetite, feeling tired, guilty feeling, and suicidal ideation were not included in the binary logistic regression model. CI: confidence interval, OR: odds ratio
