Abstract
Cocaine and some related psychostimulants interact with sigma receptors in binding assays. Their Ki values are compatible with blood concentrations reported to produce psychosis in human volunteers. It is proposed that the psychotomimetic effects of some psychostimulants may derive, at least in part, from their interaction with sigma receptors.Entities:
