Surfactant-producing microorganisms isolated from the gut of a Eucalyptus-feeding sawfly, Perga affinis affinis.

Abstract

Microorganisms which produce surfactants were isolated from the gut of a eucalypt-feeding sawfly. It is possible that surfactants in the guts of some defoliators may be microbiologically-produced.
