Abstract
The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence and pattern of excessive daytime sleepiness (EDTS) in Indian college students. This was a cross-sectional study that was conducted among 1215 undergraduate students, using the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) and a sociodemographic survey. A high proportion (45%) of EDTS was observed, and the problem was significantly greater in participants from professional courses. A probability of association of EDTS with coffee/tea consumption, alcohol consumption and smoking was also observed in the study.Entities:
