Abstract
BACKGROUND: Bone morphogenetic protein 15 (BMP15) is a growth factor derived from oocyte and is essential for in vivo ovarian follicular growth and in this study, its effects on the improvement of growth and development of follicles during in vitro culture of neonatal mouse ovaries was investigated.Entities:

Figure 1.Photomicrographs of cultured and non-cultured mouse ovaries sections stained with hematoxylin and eosin: Micrographs of non-cultured; A: 14 day mouse ovary; B: 21 day mouse ovary, C: 14 day mice ovaries cultured without FSH and BMP15 (FSH−/BMP15−), D: cultured with FSH and without BMP15 (FSH+/BMP15−), E: cultured without FSH and F: with BMP15 (FSH−/BMP15+) and cultured with FSH and BMP15 (FSH+/BMP15+)
Figure 2.Photomicrographs of mouse ovaries viewed under the invert microscope in A: 14 day mouse ovary on the beginning of culture; B, C: cultured ovaries without FSH and BMP15 (FSH−/BMP15−), D, E: cultured with FSH and without BMP15 (FSH+/BMP15−), F, G: cultured without FSH and with BMP15 (FSH−/BMP15+) and H, I: cultured with FSH and BMP15 (FSH+/BMP15+) on days 3 and 7, respectively
