Regulatory Circuits and Bi-directional Signaling between Stem Cells and Their Progeny.

Purushothama Rao Tata1, Jayaraj Rajagopal2.

Abstract

Feedback signals from daughter cells to stem cells are well studied and known to provide important feedback cues. Emerging evidence shows that stem cells also send feedforward signals to their progeny. Complex circuits involving both negative and positive feedback and feedforward signals likely contribute to robust tissue maintenance and regeneration. Copyright Â
