Abstract
In this project standards for nursing records in general hospitals were formulated and then validated by a group of nurses. An instrument was then designed to evaluate to what extent the standards are reached in a particular hospital. The instrument was then tested in a sample of nine hospitals. The reliability and validity of the instrument is discussed.Mesh：
