Imaging of the Sella and Parasellar Region.

John L Go1, Anandh G Rajamohan2.

Abstract

The sella and parasellar region, found between the anterior and central skull base, represents the central aspect of the skull base. Given the location of the pituitary gland in this location, small lesions in this location may have major physiologic effects on the human body. This article reviews the anatomy, development, and pathologic processes that may involve this region. Copyright Â
