Lumbar seatbelt injury in a child: case report.

A Moskowitz1.

Abstract

Spinal injuries are uncommon in children and quite rare in the lumbar spine. A case report of an 8-year-old child sustaining a lumbar seatbelt injury with successful surgical treatment consisting of reduction and stabilization with two small Harrington compression rods, and fusion with an iliac crest autologous graft is presented.
