Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease presenting with a wide range of clinical manifestations. A recent study in Cell has uncovered distinct molecular classes of pediatric SLE patients. The approach employed is remarkable in that it may enable alignment of molecular classifications of disease with the development and selection of novel treatment modalities.
