PE, pulmonary embolism; DVT, deep vein thrombosis; DIC, disseminated intravascular coagulation; RV, right ventricle; LV, left ventricle; NT pro-BNP, N-terminal prohormone of brain natriuretic peptide; WBC, white blood cells; BUN, blood urea nitrogen; PT, prothrombin time; SIRS, systemic inflammatory response syndrome; PESI, pulmonary embolism severity index.
DIC score was based on the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis scoring system.
Altered mental status was defined as disorientation, stupor, or coma.
Shock was defined as systolic blood pressure < 90 mmHg.
