Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS: We aimed to study the prevalence and the predictive factors of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) defined by the fatty liver index (FLI) in type 2 diabetic patients (T2DM).Entities:

Clinical and biochemical characteristics of diabetic patients grouped according to NAFLD as assessed by fatty liver index (FLI). Since most variables departed significantly from normal distribution, comparisons between groups based on the presence of NAFLD by FLI, were performed using Mann-Whitney U tests for quantitative variables and Fisher’s exact tests for categorical data. Data are presented as means ± SD or number. p<0.05 were considered significant.
