P300 and Alzheimer's disease.

J Polich1.

Abstract

Previous studies using the P300 or P3 component of the event-related brain potential (ERP) to study dementing illness are reviewed and recent results on the application of P3 techniques for the diagnosis of early Alzheimer's disease are presented. These data suggest that the P3 ERP can aid in the diagnosis of dementia and may help in the assessment of early Alzheimer's disease.
