Abstract
BACKGROUND: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is associated with cognitive decrements and risk of later dementia, but it is not known if shared genetic factors underlie this association. We tested whether polygenic risk for CAD was associated with cognitive ability in community-dwelling cohorts of middle-aged and older adults.Entities:

CAD, coronary artery disease; CVD history, history of cardiovascular disease; β, standardized regression coefficient.
Figure 1.Meta-analysis of associations between coronary artery disease polygenic risk and cognitive traits at five SNP thresholds. Plot shows estimates with 95% confidence intervals; results with P -values below 0.05 are indicated by an asterisk.
