Abstract
BACKGROUND: Pandoraea spp. are recently discovered bacteria, mainly recovered from cystic fibrosis (CF) patients, but their epidemiology and clinical significance are not well known. We describe an epidemic spread of Pandoraea pulmonicola from 2009 in our CF center, involving 6 out of 243 CF patients.Entities:

Fig. 1Phylogenetic tree based on the 16S rDNA sequence of our Pandoraea sp. epidemic strain. The tree was constructed using a neighbor-joining method, and 1000 bootstrap by using MEGA5 (Molecular Evolutionary Genetics Analysis version 5.0.) software as previously described (21). Values above the lines are bootstrap values expressed as percentages
