Effect of 17 beta-estradiol on adherence of Escherichia coli to human endometrial stromal cells.

P A Mackowiak1, M L Goggans.

Abstract

The effect of 17 beta-estradiol on in vitro adherence of six strains of uropathic Escherichia coli to human endometrial stromal cells was examined. In contrast to the findings of earlier investigations using murine urogenital cells and malignant human urogenital cell lines, our studies showed no significant effect of 17 beta-estradiol on adherence.
