Distribution of discordant results based on the initial TB response
| Initial TB response (IU/mL) | Total (N = 85) | Discordant result (N = 14) | Likelihood ratio (95% CI) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Q1 0.25-0.31 | 27 | 3 (11.1) | 0.63 (0.22-1.82) |
| Q2 0.32-0.38 | 17 | 5 (29.4) | 2.11 (0.88-5.05) |
| Q3 0.39-0.54 | 20 | 4 (20.0) | 1.27 (0.50-3.23) |
| Q4 0.55-0.80 | 21 | 2 (9.5) | 0.53 (0.14-2.04) |
Values are expressed as numbers (%). The subsequent discordant result according to initial TB response was not statistically significant (P=0.48, Chi-squared test).
Abbreviations: TB, tuberculosis; Q, quartile; CI, confidence interval.
Fig. 1Bland-Altman plots for the first-second response differences for nil (A), mitogen (B), and TB responses (C); the analysis showed mean differences of -0.02 IU/mL, -0.2 IU/mL, and 0.03 IU/mL, respectively. The lower and upper limits of agreement (mean difference±1.96 SD) were -0.5 IU/mL and 0.5 IU/mL for the nil response, -2.6 IU/mL and 2.2 IU/mL for the mitogen response, and -0.5 IU/mL and 0.6 IU/mL for the TB response, respectively. Mitogen1 indicated initial result for initial mitogen stimulation and mitogen2 indicated second result for second mitogen stimulation.
Abbreviation: TB, tuberculosis.
