Abstract
Pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF) is a natural protein of the retina with demonstrable neurotrophic properties, found in the interphotoreceptor matrix in intimate contact with photoreceptors. This review summarizes the effects of PEDF on photoreceptors in several animal models of retinal degeneration.Entities:
