Abstract
Plasma cell leucaemia (PCL) is a rare aggressive form of multiple myeloma. It occasionally involves the pleura, causing malignant pleural effusion (MPE). MPE presents a management dilemma for physicians, given the different treatment options available with varying efficacy and side effects. We report a case of a 64-year-old man with MPE due to PCL, successfully managed with intrapleural cisplatin and a tunnelled pleural catheter. We believe this to be the first report of management of PCL-associated MPE with intrapleural cisplatin. 2015 BMJ Publishing Group Ltd.Entities:
