Aortic dissection as a rare complication of percutaneous coronary intervention.

Abstract

Aortic dissection is a rare but life-threatening complication that can occur during percutaneous coronary intervention procedures. We present a case of a 55-year-old woman who underwent a right coronary angioplasty that was complicated by a proximal dissection of the ascending aorta. Urgent surgical repair of the aorta was performed and the patient was discharged in stable clinical condition. 2014 BMJ Publishing Group Ltd.
