Abstract
BACKGROUND: Periprocedural myocardial infarction (PMI) has had several definitions in the last decade, including the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) definition, that requires marked biomarker elevations congruent with surgical PMI criteria. METHODS ANDEntities:

Adjusted HRs for death/MI at 2 years according to different PMI definitions were: *2007 PMI definition, HR=1.3 (95% CI, 0.78 to 2.21; P=0.302); †2012 PMI definition, HR=1.49 (95% CI, 0.80 to 2.76; P=0.208); ‡SCAI PMI definition, HR=2.70 (95% CI: 1.08 to 6.78, P=0.034).
