Abstract
Olfactory function decreases with age. This is frequent: one in four individuals above 52 years of age exhibits olfactory loss. This decrease in olfactory function can be seen at all levels of olfactory information processing, both on a functional and a morphological level. Recent studies, however, indicate that olfactory loss with age may not be an inevitable fate.Mesh:
