[Cytokinin-induced de-novo synthesis of nitrate reductase in isolated embryos of Agrostemma githago].

Abstract

Nitrate reductase can be induced in isolated embryos of Agrostemma githago by treatment with cytokinin. By labeling proteins with H2 (18)O and subsequent isopycnic density gradient centrifugation it was proved that the benzyladenine induction of nitrate reductase is caused by a de-novo synthesis of the enzyme.
