[Demonstration of Phytochrome-mediated de novo-Synthesis of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL, E.C. 4.3.1.5) in seedlings of Sinapis alba L. by Density Labeling with Deuterium].

Abstract

Using the in vivo density labeling technique with deuterium oxide it is confirmed that during phytochrome mediated photomorphogenesis in mustard seedlings a true de novo synthesis of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase is induced by active phytochrome (P fr).
