Relative optical cross-section of the two photosystems during the life cycle of Chlorella.

P Butko1.

Abstract

Low-temperature fluorescence spectroscopy of Chlorella was used to monitor changes in photon utilization by the two photosystems during the life cycle. Changes in the relative optical cross-section σ of the photosystems are brought about by changes in partition of the antenna molecules between the photosystems. The relative cross-section σ is not affected by the State 1/State 2 transitions.
