Abstract
HIV-infected individuals are at a high risk of developing arterial and venous thromboembolism. Opportunistic infections, protease inhibitors, low CD4 count, antiphospholipid antibodies, protein S, and protein C deficiencies are some important risk factors associated with it. However, thromboembolic phenomenon due to protein C deficiency has been rarely reported. We report a case of a 12-year-old girl with facial palsy due to middle cerebral artery infarct because of HIV infection and associated protein C deficiency.Entities:
