Abstract
Alzheimer's disease is characterized neuropathologically by the progressive atrophy and death of selected neuronal populations. Prominent cytoskeletal changes are also observed, as well as the formation of neuritic plaques associated with the abnormal deposition of amyloid in the brain. The nature, pathogenesis and distribution of these changes are discussed.Entities:
