Abstract
OBJECTIVE: Patients with stage I non-small cell lung cancer who have undergone complete surgical resection harbor a 30% risk for tumor recurrence. Thus, the identification of factors that are predictive for tumor recurrence is urgently needed. The aim of this study was to test the prognostic value of serum albumin levels on tumor recurrence in patients with stage I non-small cell lung cancer.Entities:

Associations between clinicopathological characteristics and hypoalbuminemia were assessed using the product moment correlation coefficient (r). P-values<0.05 were defined as indicative of statistical significance.
Figure 2A) Kaplan-Meier recurrence-free survival curves for 101 patients with stage I NSCLC are shown according to pre-operative serum albumin levels (p = 0.008). B) Kaplan-Meier recurrence-free survival curves for 101 patients with stage I NSCLC are shown according to post-operative serum albumin levels (p = 0.001).
