[Extracranial carotid stenosis: diagnostics, therapy and follow-up].

Abstract

Up to 30,000 cases of ischemic stroke associated with carotid stenoses occur each year in Germany which raises the question of an adequate treatment. This article presents a review of the guideline-conform diagnostics and therapy of carotid stenosis.
