Microenvironmental induced essentiality of autophagy.

Dean C Singleton1, Adrian L Harris.

Abstract

Angiogenesis inhibitors cause increased hypoxia in tumors and this results in the induction of cytoprotective autophagy. Targeting this adaptation using autophagy inhibitors can overcome resistance to antiangiogenic therapy and enhance the antitumor effects. ©2013 AACR
