Abstract
BACKGROUND: The oxidative stress mechanism is of particular interest in the pathogenesis of glioma, given the high rate of oxygen metabolism in the brain. Potential links between polymorphisms of antioxidant genes and glioma risk are currently unknown. We therefore investigated the association between polymorphisms in antioxidant genes and glioma risk.Entities:

aReference group: GPX1 promoter: CC, MnSOD V16A: TT, SOD3 T58A: GG, and NOS1 3' UTR: CT+TT.
bBecause the subject number in group ‘4’ was sparse (one control and three patients), the subjects with greater than three unfavourable genotypes were combined as the high-risk group.
