Abstract
Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a mild decline in single or multiple cognitive domains, while global cognition and basic activities of daily living remain intact. Nurses play an important role in early detection of MCI and providing care to maintain maximum independence for individuals with MCI. This article seeks to provide nurses with a review of the most recent research regarding the etiology and diagnosis of MCI, related risk and protective factors, patient and family experiences, and current interventions. This update provides research evidence to inform nursing practice of MCI care.Entities:
