Charting a course toward an understanding of schizophrenia.

Joshua A Gordon1, Holly Moore.

Abstract

Clinical studies suggest a correlation between sleep disturbances and cognitive dysfunction in patients with schizophrenia, though the neurobiological basis of this association is unclear. In this issue of Neuron, a new study by Phillips et al. (2012) describes deficits in the neural oscillations underlying sleep in a neurodevelopmental model of the disorder.
