Abstract
The effects of acutely or chronically administered carbamazepine were studied in rats submitted to the modified Geller-Seifter conflict test. Diazepam was used as a standard anxiolytic. The results showed an increase in punished response after carbamazepine, as observed with diazepam, leading to the suggestion of an anti-conflict-effect for this drug. No tolerance to the anti-punishment-effect was seen after chronic carbamazepine administration.Entities:
