Abstract
This study aimed to reassess rates of syphilis azithromycin resistance in Dublin. Of the 104 samples, 36 (34.6%) were positive for Treponema pallidum DNA by polymerase chain reaction. Thirty samples were analyzed for A2058G mutation, 29 samples sequenced. Of the 29 samples, 27 (93.1%) had the mutation. Azithromycin cannot be recommended for the treatment of syphilis in Dublin.Entities:
