Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) has been implicated in memory, learning, and neurodegenerative diseases. However, the relationship of BDNF with cardiometabolic risk factors is unclear, and the effect of exercise training on BDNF has not been previously explored in individuals with type 2 diabetes.Entities:

Multiple linear regression was used to test the trend of baseline BDNF. P-trend <0.05 was the criteria for statistical significance.
Figure 2The effect of exercise training modality on serum BDNF levels.
Results are presented as adjusted least square means with 95% confidence intervals. The statistical model is adjusted for baseline value, age, sex, duration of diabetes, and ethnic group.
Spearman correlations for the change in BDNF following exercise training with changes in cardiometabolic risk factors in exercisers (N = 127).
