Abstract
Three for one: Pyrrolyldipyrromethenes having different functional groups were efficiently synthesized from POCl(3)-promoted condensations between 5-chloro-2-formylpyrrole or isoindole derivatives and suitable pyrrole or indole fragments through a novel nucleophilic aromatic substitution of the initially formed protonated azafulvene rings.Entities:
