Abstract
BACKGROUND: A better understanding of the histopathology and molecular biology of lung cancer might improve our capability to predict the outcome for any individual patient. The purpose of this study was to evaluate several histopathologic and molecular markers in order to assess their prognostic value in stage I non-small cell lung cancer.Entities:

Recurrence according to histologic factors and molecular markers
TTF-1=thyroid transcription factor 1; EGFR=epidermal growth factor receptor.
a)Negative=grade 0,1; positive=grade 2,3. b)Loss=grade 0,1; preserved=grade 2,3. c)Normal=grade 0,1; overexpression=grade 2,3.
