Abstract
Sixty-four-section CT colonography with water enema combines intracolonic neutral contrast agent with high-resolution CT images of the abdomen. Owing to submillimeter isotropic voxels, high-quality reformatted images are obtained. High-resolution images offer added value for the detection and localization of colonic lesions, evaluation of the local extent of the disease, and depiction, if any, of synchronous colorectal lesions and distant metastases. Sixty-four-section CT colonography with water enema has a major role in the evaluation of patients with colon cancer before planning therapy. It can be used to complement failed or incomplete colonoscopy and investigate the colon in elderly patients. Copyright ÂEntities:
